RHINO ORIGINS · PEOPLE, PRODUCE & ORIGIN

Plant Today, Prosper Tomorrow
Growing the future of Rhino Origins.
Through White Rhino Concepts’ Plant Today, Prosper Tomorrow (PTPT) programme, we are developing a future source of coffee, cocoa, tea ingredients, honey, herbs and spices for our ranges.
The ambition is to connect suitable Ugandan growing areas and local processing with dependable markets, bringing the people and places behind each ingredient into the Rhino Origins story.

Six growing opportunities
Each product family has different needs. Crop suitability, quality and processing capability will guide which ingredients enter the range.
Coffee
Coffee growing in suitable Ugandan locations, with harvesting and post-harvest handling guided by the quality our coffee range requires.
Cocoa
Cocoa production linked to fermentation, drying and processing partners, creating a future source for cocoa and chocolate products.
Tea & infusions
Suitable botanical ingredients for teas and infusions, developed through growing trials and blend requirements. Leaf teas will be sourced from suitable specialist producers as the range develops.
Honey
Planned beekeeping alongside suitable farming activities, with careful handling and records that identify the producer, apiary, harvest and batch.
Herbs
Growing trials and careful harvesting, drying and storage to develop herbs for culinary use and botanical infusions.
Spices
Ginger and turmeric are among the programme’s proposed crops. Growing conditions, processing quality and recipe requirements will guide their place in future ranges.
From household plots to finished products
The programme is being designed around mapped households and soil-informed production plans. Sub-county production groups, coordinated at district level, would bring suitable crops, processing capacity and market demand into the same plan.
Plan for the place
Match crops to local growing conditions and agree practical production plans with participating households.
Grow and handle for quality
Build appropriate cultivation, harvest, fermentation, drying and storage practices around each crop and its intended use.
Connect the harvest to the range
Work towards aggregation, local processing and producer and batch records, introducing ingredients to Rhino Origins when quality, specifications and supply arrangements are established.
Opportunity that respects people and land
Participation is intended to be voluntary. Land remains under its existing ownership, with any required land-use arrangements agreed on fair, time-bound terms.
PTPT also aims to connect production with local enterprise, including opportunities for women-led processing businesses, so value can be added closer to where ingredients are grown.
Clear origins as the programme develops
PTPT is in design and partnership development. A product will be identified as PTPT-sourced when its producer, origin and batch records support that description. Current Rhino Origins products retain their own stated origins.
Help grow the next chapter
We welcome conversations with growers, processors and trade partners interested in developing suitable ingredients for the Rhino Origins ranges.
